Growing up in Florida, Dr. Efford always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Her education began when she obtained a bachelors in Animal Biology with a minor in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida in 2016. She then stayed in Gainesville, FL to obtain her veterinary degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in May 2020.
While in veterinary school, Dr. Efford completed several externships at private and specialty veterinary hospitals. Throughout all of her clinical experiences, she discovered a distinct passion for working with the feline species. Of course, personally having cats as pets since a young age only helped strengthen her understanding of cat patients’ unique needs.
Dr. Efford shares her home with a cat named Brooks, who was rescued as a stray with severe skin allergies. In her free time, she enjoys working out at the gym, exploring hiking spots, and trying new restaurants with family and friends. Dr. Efford is excited to be in the Atlanta area starting her veterinary career and looks forward to working with the Paws Whiskers and Claws team in advocating for feline health and well-being!
